Surgical Specialists of Oklahoma, PLLC (SSO) began in 1998 with 10 general surgeons in 5 locations and has now grown to 37 surgeons, 29 locations and 6 different surgical specialties with over 320 employees. SSO is now one of the largest multi-specialty surgical groups in Oklahoma with cardio thoracic surgery, general surgery, spine & neurological surgery, orthopedic surgery, podiatry and urology. Podiatry, or Foot and Ankle Care, is the newest division joining Surgical Specialists of Oklahoma.  Nathaniel Applegate, DPM and Michael di Gregorio, DPM have opened their Foot & Ankle Clinic in late September, 2007 and Rick Traczyk, DPM has just recently joined on January 1st, 2008.

SSO IS GROWING

SSO is a medical practice management group that also manages ESEC Surgery Center and SSO Physical Therapy located at NW 63rd and Portland in Oklahoma City. Fifteen urologists have joined SSO and have established, under the SSO umbrella, Urology Centers of Oklahoma, which are highly specialized urological centers of excellence that will help provide Oklahomans with a breadth of sophisticated urological treatments and services. This group brings a strong leading edge team of urologists to SSO. They will provide state of the art urologic surgical care in percutaneous kidney stone therapy, transplantation, reconstructive urology, urologic cancer surgery, female urologic care, and erectile dysfunction treatment. The group will expand on its present research capabilities and has established a prostate cancer treatment program.  Urology Centers of Oklahoma has chosen to enter into a collaborative partnership with Optim Oncology, in Midwest City, Oklahoma, due to the experience of their radiation oncology team, success with similar prostate patients, and their cancer treatment philosophy.
