Joshua P. Carey, M.D. 

Dr. Carey, a long-time Oklahoma City resident, graduated from Putnam City North with honors then attended Oklahoma Baptist University on scholarship.  He obtained his medical degree at the University of Kansas on an Air Force scholarship, completing his clinical years at the Wichita campus.  He was then chosen for an active duty residency at the Wright-Patterson AFB/Wright State University Integrated General Surgical Residency program.  Prior to beginning there he completed the School of Aerospace Medicine at Brooks AFB in San Antonio, earning his wings as a Flight Surgeon.  After completing the five year residency, he returned home for an assignment at Tinker Air Force Base.

He obtained his board certification examinations from the American Board of Surgery in 2005, has served as the Chief of the Surgery element at Tinker since June 2006 and was named the 2006 Air Force Material Command Surgeon of the Year.  Most recently, he was initiated as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons at their 2007 Clinical Congress.
